Liberal Speech Patterns

Letters To Readers

Rush Limbaugh (conservative radio talkshow host, very famous in America) had a hilarious segment on a week or so ago. He was refering to a 15 minute interview on one of the national politcal TV shows the previous night. The interviewed person, a liberal, spent fully 2 minutes of the 15 minutes uttering long protracted "uhhhhhs" and "ummmmms" and Rush was saying this is a hallmark of how liberals talk, because they are pausing to choose their words careful so you won't know they are lying. Then, in case someone didn't believe him, he spliced together all the ums and ahs in the guys interview into one continuous stream and played it. I was almost rolling on the floor laughing. Imagine two minutes straight of these protacted, long drawn out sounds from some old sounding guy. It was like a porn sound track at really slow speed. At one minute, Rush comes on "Don't go, there's still another whole minute".... .He then got flooded with callers who said the guy was a russian, he was having trouble with english. Then another caller called in to say that even when he is speaking in Russian he does the same thing. In fact, one time when he was speaking in russian, with a translator, the translator was leaving in all the ums and uhs in the english translation!
