My Collectible Business Cards

I needed some new business cards, so I decided to print these. It's always so hard to decide exactly what I want to say on a business card, so I made a few different varieties. I am not really sure why I would hand out one, instead of another, other than just for the fun of maybe getting out all the cards, and offering the person their choice of card.

One of the tricks that real estate agents use is to put their own picture on their cards. This makes it harder for the recipient to throw away the card. They'll want to keep it around forever.

My old business card had a picture of 4 kittens on it. Lots of people remarked about the cute kittens, and it was a nice opportunity for me to talk about my four cats. Some people wanted to know if those were my cats pictured on the card, but of course it is almost impossible to get four grown cats to pose together for a picture. Still someday I should try to get them to pose. Sometimes they all crowd onto my desk in the middle of the day, maybe that would be the time to get the picture.

Anyhow, the computer where I made that card is buried, and it's monitor is being used for a different computer, (I've been exploring the dual screen mode of one of my laptops, and I must say that it is nice to have two monitors on the same computer), so I decided to create some new cards.

Not being narcicistic about myself, (well, I am narcicistic about my websites), I decided I wanted to do something different to make myself memorable, and make it easy for the recipient to remember me.

This is a nice fireworks picture. Really looks nice when it is printed in raised ink.

This is one of my favorite digital photos. It is a nighttime, 30 second exposure, taken here in Novato. If you look carefully, you can see the ghost of the driver floating errily above the race car. I made this photo within a couple of days of receiving my Sony DSC-F707 5 megapixel camera. You can see some more examples of Sony DSC-F707 photos here.

This was actually the first card I made today. I spent a lot of time in Turkey at the Grand Bazaar, and I even put a photo essay of the Grand Bazaar online, this would have been a nice card to hand out there... Just pause for a moment and think how much communications have increased since the times of these guys plodding the deserts.... And just think, there are still something like a billion people in the world who don't even have a telephone....
I hate to waste the back of a card. Usually I put some kind of advertisement or coupon on the back of my cards. Last night, I decided to just advertise a few more of my websites. Perhaps when I hand out the card, I can circle one of the websites that I especially recommend for that recipient.
