Fun In The U.S. CapitalLetters To ReadersFun in the U.S. CapitalI would have loved to join the chat.. .Unfortunately, I am in Washington D.C. busily entertaining my boss. We are at a government related computer show, www.fose.com. I've taken to calling him "General" in front of people here, it definitely generates an extra level of respect...When out walking on the street, I have been practicing my russian, asking people, "Izvinite... Skazite persalsta, gde krasnia plorshet?" - (Excuse me, tell me please, where is red square?" Funny thing is that two women who I asked that question recoiled in horror, answering "Moskva!". Turns out that they were Bulgarian tourists, and the last thing they expected to be reminded of on Pennsylvania Avenue was Red Square. Seymour and I decided that in front of the white house was not a place to play a new game I've invented: Everytime you hear an airplane, dive to the ground, cover your head, and yell "Incoming!!!!!!!".... I decided that trying to pee into all of the various reflecting ponds and fountains was a more worthy challenge. One could have to drink a lot of beer to have enough to go around to all the fountains. Lots of fun someone can have here...... | |
